Professional work in healthcare is increasingly disruptive, requiring professionals to be flexible and adaptable. Research on adaptive expertise and adaptive performance in healthcare has grown, and operationalisation and measurement of these concepts are crucial to meet professionals' evolving needs. This study provides an overview of measurement instruments for adaptive expertise and adaptive performance in (becoming) healthcare professionals, including an evaluation of their operationalisations and the amount of evidence supporting their quality.

Chronic itch in older patients is a common problem, with a significant impact on quality of life. Chronic itch in the older population may be attributable to several causes, such as age-related changes, skin conditions, systemic conditions, medications, and psychological conditions. Given the complexity of itch in this population, comorbidities, and polypharmacy in most geriatric patients, treating chronic itch can be challenging for healthcare providers.

Microlearning has become increasingly popular not only in education sector but also in corporate sector in recent years. However, its definition and didactics conceptualization, integration into instruction design, and effects on learning outcomes remain largely underexplored in terms of synthesized findings. Background/purpose: Nurses play a vital role in providing effective family-centered care (FCC) to enhance the quality of healthcare for children with chronic illnesses and increase family satisfaction. This study aimed to investigate nurses' perceptions and practices of FCC for children with chronic illnesses, and how nursing characteristics influence this relationship.
Method: This multicenter cross-sectional study involved a convenience sample of 405 nurses, each with at least six months of experience caring for chronically ill children, infants, and toddlers in Saudi Arabia.

Introduction: Faced with a backdrop of an increasing chronic disease burden from an ageing global population compounded with rising healthcare costs, health systems are required to implement cost-effective, safe and equitable care through efficient service delivery models. One approach to achieving this is through Starfield's 4Cs of primary healthcare (PHC), which delineates the key attributes of a high-performing PHC system that upholds the pillars of care coordination, first contact of care, continuity of care and comprehensive care. Therefore, this study aims to explore and elucidate the key themes and subthemes related to and extending beyond Starfield's 4Cs of PHC by integrating findings from a comprehensive literature review and a qualitative study.
