Previous studies have demonstrated the safety and efficacy of a live-attenuated glycoprotein G (gG) deletion mutant vaccine strain of ILTV (∆gG-ILTV). In the current study, transcriptional profiles of chicken tracheal organ cultures (TOCs), 24 h post inoculation with ∆gG-ILTV or the gG-expressing parent wild-type strain, CSW-1 ILTV were explored and compared with the mock-infected TOCs using RNA-seq analysis. Transcriptomes of the vaccine and wild-type ILTV were also compared with each other.

Crystallin proteins serve as both essential structural and as well as protective components of the ocular lens and are required for the transparency and light refraction properties of the organ. The mouse lens crystallin proteome is represented by αA-, αB-, βA1-, βA2-, βA3-, βA4-, βB1-, βB2-, βB3-, γA-, γB-, γC-, γD-, γE, γF-, γN-, and γS-crystallin proteins encoded by 16 genes. Their mutations are responsible for lens opacification and early onset cataract formation.

Global Literature Analysis of Tumor Organoid and Tumor-on-Chip Research.

Cancers (Basel)

January 2025

Hybrid Technology Hub, Centre of Excellence, Institute of Basic Medical Sciences, University of Oslo, 0372 Oslo, Norway.

: Tumor organoid and tumor-on-chip (ToC) platforms replicate aspects of the anatomical and physiological states of tumors. They, therefore, serve as models for investigating tumor microenvironments, metastasis, and immune interactions, especially for precision drug testing. To map the changing research diversity and focus in this field, we performed a quality-controlled text analysis of categorized academic publications and clinical studies.

Background: Empirical antibiotic therapy is often initiated during the hospital stay while awaiting laparoscopic cholecystectomy. This approach is generally justified in patients with moderate (Tokyo II) and severe (Tokyo III) acute cholecystitis, where organ dysfunction occurs as a result of the inflammatory or infectious process. However, there is no clear consensus regarding the use of antibiotics in patients with mild (Tokyo I) cholecystitis.

Epithelial tissues in vitro undergo dynamic changes while differentiating heterogeneously on the culture substrate. This gives rise to diverse cellular arrangements which are undistinguished by conventional analysis approaches, such as transepithelial electrical resistance measurement or permeability assays. In this context, solid substrate-based systems with integrated electrodes and electrochemical impedance monitoring capability can address the limited spatiotemporal resolution of traditional porous membrane-based methods.
