Inpatient hypoglycaemia is a significant concern in patients with diabetes due to its association with increased mortality. At the Veterans Affairs Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System, we developed a project to reduce overnight hypoglycaemia in hospitalised patients with diabetes by addressing insulin stacking, defined as insulin dosed within 4 hours of each other. By delaying the timing of bedtime correctional insulin administration in the electronic health record, we achieved a 28% reduction in the proportion of patients experiencing insulin stacking after one year.

This narrative review examines the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools into forensic psychiatry in Africa, highlighting possible opportunities and challenges. Specifically, AI may have the potential to augment screening in prisons, risk assessment/management, and forensic-psychiatric treatment, alongside offering benefits for training and research purposes. These use-cases may be particularly advantageous in contexts of forensic practice in Africa, where there remains a need for capacity building and service improvements in jurisdictions affected by distinctive sociolegal and socioeconomic challenges.

The state of Georgia has the highest percentage of its citizens under correctional supervision in the United States. Background: It is known that SARS-CoV-2 infection increases the risk of severe illness in patients who are immunocompromised as compared to the general public. To combat this issue, telemedicine was utilized to combat the issue of general access to care to decrease the risk of exposure of SARS-CoV-2 infection in various settings. However, there is very little data on adequate continuity of care (COC) and sustainability of telehealth throughout the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic.
