Atherosclerosis, a chronic inflammatory disease, is driven by complex molecular mechanisms involving inflammatory cytokines and immune pathways. According to recent research, tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs), which are typically prescribed to treat depressive disorders, have strong anti-inflammatory effects. TCAs, including imipramine and amitriptyline, alter inflammatory signaling cascades, which include lowering the levels pro-inflammatory cytokines like TNF-α, IL-1β, and IL-6 and inhibiting NF-κB activation.

However, no systematic review of the results has been conducted so far.
Aim: The aim of this study was to conduct a scoping review of research studies comparing immune and systemic inflammation parameters in patients with BD and MDD during a depressive episode.

Objectives: To evaluate the antidepressant-like effects of Phenylthiazolyl-1,3,5-triazine derivatives through behavioral tests, molecular docking, and histopathological analysis in a rat brain model of depression.
Methods: Phenylthiazolyl-1,3,5-triazine derivatives were synthesized and administered at a dose of 30 mg/kg in albino rats. Behavioral effects were assessed using the Forced Swim Test and Tail Suspension Test.

The objective of this study was to assess the antidepressant efficacy of a novel imipramine-magnesium (IMI-Mg) complex in comparison to the administration of imipramine and magnesium individually. The study utilized adult male albino Swiss mice. Behavioral assessments were conducted using the forced swim test (FST) and the tail suspension test (TST).

Depression is a neuropsychiatric disorder that affects thousands of people around the world. Drug therapy is the main approach for treating this disease, but its use can cause side effects on cells. This study aimed to examine the impact of antidepressant drugs from different classes on glial (BV-2) cells in the presence or absence of grape seed extract (GSE) and quinolinic acid (QA; 1.
