Abscess of the corpus cavernosum is a condition that occurs most commonly as a result of penile injection, priapism, sexually transmitted infections, and trauma. The diagnosis of corpus cavernosum abscess is made through imaging, typically computed tomography (CT) or ultrasound. The preferred method of treatment for corpus cavernosum abscess is incision, drainage, and antibiotic therapy.

Malignant priapism is described as persistent, nonsexual erections caused by invasion or metastasis from a primary neoplasm. We present two cases of malignant priapism with different etiologies and the respective management strategies. A 75-year-old patient had undergone radical cystectomy for a high-grade bladder tumor 5 months ago and came with priapism.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFThe presented paper discusses the experience with exogenous nitric oxide (NO) and argon plasma coagulation (APC) used at cavernotomy in 31 patients with multidrug-resistant fibrocavernous pulmonary tuberculosis. Supplementary treatments depending in infectious risk factors were comprehensively evaluated. The application of APC and NO significantly improved the results of open cavern sanitation, as evidenced by the bacterial excretion index, and doubled the immediate efficiency of surgical treatment.

Penile curvature is a defect associated with both mental distress and sexual dysfunction. Of the different surgical methods for correction, plication techniques are considered the least technically demanding. However, the use of non-absorbable sutures in the tunica albuginea carries a potential for formation of bothersome subcutaneous nodules.

Introduction: Implantation of a penile prosthesis into fibrosed corpora cavernosa is a difficult and risky procedure. Specialized instruments that assist safer and more efficient excavation include Otis Urethrotome and various cavernotomes, all of which operate underneath the tunica albuginea, out of sight. The blind use of such instruments can result in perforation of the tunica albuginea or injury to the urethra.
