Objective: To compare the effectiveness and safety of budesonide-glycopyrrolate-formoterol, a twice daily metered dose inhaler, and fluticasone-umeclidinium-vilanterol, a once daily dry powder inhaler, in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) treated in routine clinical practice.
Design: New user cohort study.
Setting: Longitudinal commercial US claims data.

Systemic-to-pulmonary collaterals (SPCs) are common in congenital heart disease (CHD). Particularly in single ventricle anatomy and Fontan circulation, SPC can both complicate the postoperative course and lead to clinical deterioration in the long term. The treatment of SPC is controversial.

Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory disease that significantly impacts physical and emotional health. Statins, primarily used as lipid-lowering drugs, have also demonstrated anti-inflammatory effects. While some studies suggest that statins may improve psoriasis symptoms, the findings have been inconsistent.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate which anthropometric index, either body mass index (BMI) or weight-adjusted waist index (WWI), is more accurately associated with the prevalence of the most common chronic diseases and components of geriatric assessment in hospitalized older adults.
Methods: The study included a total of 2945 hospitalized older adults (median age 82 years). The associations between the presence of chronic diseases and Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (CGA) results were compared with WWI and BMI values.

Over the past decade, several trials and observational studies have validated the use of minimally invasive cardiac interventions as viable treatment options for various cardiac diseases. Transcatheter techniques for severe aortic valve stenosis have rapidly emerged as alternatives to surgical aortic valve replacement in certain patient populations. Additionally, non-surgical treatment options have expanded for conditions affecting other cardiac valves, such as the mitral valve.
