Imidazole Cationic-Bridged Pillar[5]arene Polymer as a Recycle Adsorbent for Iodine Capture.

ACS Appl Mater Interfaces

January 2025

Key Laboratory of Intelligent Supramolecular Chemistry at the University of Yunnan Province, National and Local Joint Engineering Research Center for Green Preparation Technology of Biobased Materials, School of Chemistry & Environment, Yunnan Minzu University, Kunming 650500, P. R. China.

Developing efficient and recyclable iodine adsorbents is crucial for addressing radioactive iodine pollution. An imidazole cation-bridged pillar[5]arene polymer (P5-P5I) was synthesized via a salt formation reaction. P5-P5I exhibited a high iodine vapor capture capacity of 2130.

Objectives: The objective of this study is to evaluate the incidence and volume of contrast medium extrusion when activated with a laser and to compare these outcomes with those of other irrigation techniques.

Materials And Methods: Sixteen cadaver mandibles containing 116 single-rooted teeth were prepared using conventional rotary instrumentation. The teeth were randomly assigned to four irrigation groups: side-vented needle, sonic irrigation, laser activation at the orifice, and laser activation at the middle third of the canal.

Concentration of Povidone-Iodine Pocket Irrigation in Implant-Based Breast Surgery: A Scoping Review.

Aesthetic Plast Surg

January 2025

Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences, Monash University, Melbourne, Australia.

Background: In implant-based breast surgery, microbial contamination of implant surfaces predisposes complications such as overt periprosthetic infection and has been linked to capsular contracture (CC). Anti-microbial practices, including povidone-iodine (PVP-I) breast pocket irrigation, are routinely employed to minimise these risks. No standardised protocol for using this antiseptic exists, particularly concerning the ideal concentration.

Gadopiclenol Enables Reduced Gadolinium Dose While Maintaining Quality of Pulmonary Arterial Enhancement for Pulmonary MRA: An Opportunity for Improved Safety and Sustainability.

Invest Radiol

January 2025

From the Departments of Radiology (J.F.H., S.Y.C., J.-P.G., J.S., P.N., S.B.R., T.M.G.), Biomedical Engineering (S.B.R., T.M.G.), Medical Physics (S.Y.C., S.B.R., T.M.G.), Medicine (S.B.R.), and Emergency Medicine (S.B.R.), University of Wisconsin-Madison, WI; and Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology (J.F.H., J.-P.G.), University Hospital Würzburg, Würzburg, Germany.

Rationale And Objectives: Pulmonary magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) is an imaging method with proven utility for the exclusion of pulmonary embolism and avoids the need for ionizing radiation and iodinated contrast agents. High-relaxivity gadolinium-based contrast agents (GBCAs), such as gadopiclenol, can be used to reduce the required gadolinium dose for pulmonary MRA. The aim of this study was to compare the contrast enhancement performance of gadopiclenol with an established gadobenate dimeglumine-enhanced pulmonary MRA protocol.

Acta Endocrinol (Buchar)

January 2025

Adıyaman Training and Research Hospital, Department of Pediatric Endocrinology, Adıyaman, Turkey.

Context: Congenital hypothyroidism (CH) is one of the most common preventable causes of intellectual disability, and can be diagnosed in the early period through neonatal screening programs.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the prevalence of CH and recall rates in the province of Adıyaman.

Design: This retrospective study evaluated the data of newborn screening program in Adıyaman province between January 2015 and December 2020.
