Acute aortic occlusion (AAO) is a rare and life-threatening condition, mostly secondary to acute thrombosis or embolism. It usually presents as bilateral lower limb ischemia; however, in rare cases, spinal cord infarction might coexist, mimicking cauda equina syndrome. We present a rare case of AAO by saddle embolism of a thoracic aortic mural thrombus.

Unlabelled: A 60-year-old woman with a recent history of presumed cardiogenic cerebral infarction was referred for surgical removal of a left ventricular mass. She was diagnosed with Fabry disease eight years before. Transthoracic echocardiography showed a mobile echogenic mass in the left ventricular apex.

Background: Ascending aortic thrombus is a rare disease that can cause fatal thromboembolism. The treatment for the disease is not well defined and depends on the clinical experience of surgeons. Most reports of thrombosis in antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) are associated with venous or peripheral arterial thrombosis, and there are almost no reports of thrombosis of the aorta.

Background: Hydatid disease is a zoonotic infection caused by the species Echinococcus that typically affects the liver. Most liver hydatid cysts are asymptomatic at first, but as the cyst grows larger, symptoms, such as compression effects, start to appear. Ultrasonography and computed tomography scans are the widely used diagnostic tools, and surgery is considered the mainstay of treatment.

A 42-year-old male with ischemic cardiomyopathy presented with acute bilateral femoral artery embolization. After management with embolectomy and fasciotomy in both femoral arteries, transthoracic echocardiography revealed two pedunculated highly mobile left ventricle (LV) thrombi. Given the procedural risk, anticoagulation therapy was recommended over surgery.
