Copper, an essential trace element and biochemical cofactor in humans plays a critical role in maintaining health. Recent studies have identified a significant association between copper levels and the progression and metastasis of cancer. Copper is primarily absorbed in the intestinal tract, often leading to an imbalance of copper ions in the body.

Effects of enzymolysis by seven proteases (Alcalase, Bromelain, Flavourzyme, Papain, Pepsin, Protamex, and Trypsin) with distinct cleavage specificities on the emulsification performance of hempseed protein (HPI) and its correlation with the structural and interfacial characteristics were explored in this study. Upon enzymolysis, a remarkable decrease in α-helix and β-turn was observed in resultant hydrolysates (HPH), accompanied by a rise in β-sheet and random coil, notably by Alcalase, Bromelain, Papain, and Trypsin. Overall, proteolysis led to noticeable reductions in surface hydrophobicity and total sulfhydryls as well as a redshift in intrinsic fluorescence, with Papain showing the most pronounced effects, possibly due to its higher hydrolysis degree (4.

This review describes mass spectrometry (MS)-based approaches for the absolute quantification of therapeutic monoclonal antibodies (mAbs), focusing on technical challenges in sample treatment and calibration. Therapeutic mAbs are crucial for treating cancer and inflammatory, infectious, and autoimmune diseases. We trace their development from hybridoma technology and the first murine mAbs in 1975 to today's chimeric and fully human mAbs.

The current study aimed to assess the preventive effects of aqueous leaf extract of Pistacia lentiscus (ALEPL) against Oxaliplatin (OXA)-induced DNA damage, hepatic injury, and oxidative stress. The in vitro cytotoxic and genotoxic effects of OXA and ALEPL on HCT116 colon cancer cells were evaluated using the MTT (Tetrazolium salt reduction) assay and comet assay. The in vivo study involved 24 female NMRI (Naval Medical Research Institute) mice that were equally divided into four groups as follows: Control group, ALEPL-treated group (100 mg/kg), OXA-treated group (7 mg/kg), and ALEPL-treated group (100mg/kg) + OXA (7mg/kg).

GRASP55 Regulates Sorting and Maturation of the Lysosomal Enzyme β-Hexosaminidase A.

The Golgi apparatus plays a crucial role in the delivery of lysosomal enzymes. Golgi Reassembly Stacking Proteins, GRASP55 and GRASP65, are vital for maintaining Golgi structure and function. GRASP55 depletion results in the missorting and secretion of the lysosomal enzyme cathepsin D (Xiang , 2013), though the mechanisms remain unclear.
