Objectives: This study aimed to determine the frequency of RUNX1/RUNX1T1 gene rearrangement in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patients by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and analyze their clinical, hematological, and morphological features of positive patients.
Patients And Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in which newly diagnosed patients with AML were included in the study. A total of 101 AML cases were calculated from the World Health Organization (WHO) formula.

Thalassemia is a chronic disease caused by impaired globin chain synthesis, leading to ineffective erythropoiesis, hemolysis, and chronic anemia. The treatment of patients with thalassemia, including blood transfusion combined with chelation therapy has progressed and improved their survival and prognosis. However, thalassemia-related psychological problems and impaired health-related quality of life (QoL) challenges still exist.

Background And Aims: Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) are commonly encountered in hemodialysis (HD) patients. However, the causes linked to these disorders are still partially defined. The aim of this study was to determine the frequency of MSDs and their relationship to a variety of clinico-social characteristics such as sleep quality, mood disorders, fatigue, and social support, in addition to the patients' clinical and therapeutic profile.

Impaired iron metabolism has been increasingly observed in many diseases, but a deeper, mechanistic understanding of the cellular impact of altered iron metabolism is still lacking. In addition, deficits in neuronal energy metabolism due to reduced glucose import were described for Alzheimer's disease (AD) and its comorbidities like obesity, depression, cardiovascular disease, and type 2 diabetes mellitus. The aim of this review is to present the molecular link between both observations.
