Since its first pathological description over 65 years ago, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), with a worldwide prevalence of 1:500, has emerged as the most common genetically determined cardiac disease. Diagnostic work-up has dramatically improved over the last decades, from clinical suspicion and abnormal electrocardiographic findings to hemodynamic studies, echocardiography, contrast-enhanced cardiac magnetic resonance, and genetic testing. The implementation of screening programs and the use of implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs) for high-risk individuals have notably reduced arrhythmic sudden deaths, altering the disease's mortality profile.

Guanidinoacetic acid (GAA), a precursor of creatine, has a recognized effect on ruminant performance when used as a dietary supplement. However, its impact on reproductive response remains to be elucidated. Therefore, this study aimed to contribute initially to this area by supplementing the diets of ewes with a high dose of GAA, evaluating its effects on reproductive response.

: Aging is associated with structural and functional changes in the heart, including hypertrophy, fibrosis, and impaired contractility. Cellular mechanisms such as senescence, telomere shortening, and DNA damage contribute to these processes. Nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) has been implicated in mediating cellular responses in aging tissues, and increased NF-κB expression has been observed in the hearts of aging rodents.

Arterial hypertension has a high prevalence in the population and is considered both a cardiovascular disease and an important risk factor for the development of other cardiovascular diseases. Tea consumption shows antihypertensive effects due to its composition in terms of bioactive substances such as flavan-3-ols and xanthines. The aim of this study was to assess the possible beneficial effects of two tea extracts, one of white tea (ADM White Tea; WTE) and another one composed of a mixture of black tea and green tea (ADM Tea Complex; CTE), on the cardiovascular alterations induced by angiotensin II (AngII) infusion in mice.

E-point septal separation (EPSS) and tricuspid annular plane systolic excursion (TAPSE) are M-mode measures of left and right ventricular systolic function, with limited pediatric point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) research. We conducted a cross-sectional study in a pediatric emergency department, enrolling 12-17-year-olds without cardiopulmonary complaints. Exclusion criteria included abnormal vital signs, fever, altered mental status, or psychiatric illness.
