Necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) is the most often encountered pathology of newborns and always requires an emerging surgery in cases of perforation. An active study of more important diagnostic factors at early stages of a disease is one of the first aims of neonatologists and pediatric surgeons. This study was therefore designed to examine the state of diagnostic problems in patients presenting with Necrotizing enterocolitis, identification of possible ways of the improvement of a patient's diagnosis suffering from Necrotizing enterocolitis and patients with perforated enterocolitis, definition of the possibilities of roentgenologic methods for the determination of a disease stage of Necrotizing enterocolitis.

This article reports two clinical cases of the successful treatment of the gunshot wounds in the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses of the children resulting from the careless use of the pneumatic weapons. Despite the fact that the shots were fired from a close distance, the intracranial structures and the eyeballs remained unaffected. The bullets were localized in the nasal septum of one child and in the frontal recess of the other as is typical of the injuries inflicted to the nose and paranasal sinuses by the shots from the air rifles.

Objective: Introduction: Nowadays operative treatment of corrosive esophageal strictures remains one of the difficult and unsolved problems in surgery. The level of postoperative complications such as anastomotic leak (develops in 7-30% of cases), infections, pneumonia, pleural empyema, mediastinitis, peritonitis, postoperative corrosive strictures is still rather high. The aim of our work was to improve the results of surgical treatment of patients with corrosive esophageal strictures by analyzing and refining on conservative therapy options as well as differentiated approach to each operative treatment method.
