Conditioned planarians were transected and allowed to regenerate in a ribonuclease solution or in pond water. Heads which had regenerated in ribonuclease displayed a retention level equal to that of head and tail sections which had regenerated in pond water. However, tails regenerated in ribonuclease performed randomly although they could be retrained to criterion.

Injecting CO into deep geological formations can be an effective carbon removal and storage technology to mitigate global climate change. Interaction of injected CO with rock formations changes pH and hydrochemistry within the deep injection zone (> 800 m depth). However, cap rocks and multiple tight aquitards typically act as barriers to protect the shallow aquifer from changes in the injection zone.

Mariculture is known to harbor antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs), which can be released into marine ecosystems via oceanic farming ponds, posing a public health concern. In this study, metagenomic sequencing was used to decipher the profiles of quinolone-resistant microbiomes and the mechanisms of quinolone resistance in sediment, seawater, and fish gill samples from five mariculture ponds. Residues of both veterinary-specific (enrofloxacin and sarafloxacin) and prohibited quinolones (ofloxacin, ciprofloxacin, pefloxacin, norfloxacin, and lomefloxacin) were detected.
