Introduction: Non-cancer deaths are now becoming a significant threat to the health of cancer patients. Death from stomach and duodenal ulcer is linked to cancer due to the side effects of treatment and its pathogenesis. However, guidelines for identifying cancer patients at the highest risk of death from stomach and duodenal ulcer remain unclear.

The aim of this retrospective cohort study was to investigate the clinical characteristics and the outcomes of acute exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (AECOPD) patients between different sex. We aimed to collect the first hospitalization patients who were diagnosed as AECOPD between 1 January 2019 to 31 December 2021 from the general ward and intensive care unit in the hole hospital, Shanghai the Fifth People's Hospital, Fudan University. Demographic data, initial clinical symptoms, on-admission vital signs, comorbidities, laboratory tests and imaging examination, treatment, and follow-up were compared between the two groups.

Peptic ulcer perforations are common in surgical emergencies, whereas double perforations are rare, and triple peptic perforations are even exceedingly rare, with only a few cases documented. While undetected perforation during surgery can be fatal, the absence of standardized procedures for managing multiple perforations remains an ongoing challenge for surgeons. Herein, we describe a rare case of simultaneous triple peptic perforations in an elderly man with a prolonged history of analgesic and corticosteroid use.

One of the most common gastrointestinal diseases is esophageal hiatal hernia. It is the third most common disease after peptic ulcer and cholecystitis. We present surgical treatment of a patient with fixed axial cardiofundal hiatal hernia and previous laparoscopic repair of large hiatal hernia.
