Glufosinate (GLUF) and glyphosate (GLY) are nonselective phosphorus-containing amino acid herbicides that are widely used in agricultural gardens and noncultivated areas. These herbicides give rise to a number of key metabolites, with 3-methyl phosphinicopropionic acid (MPPA), -acetyl glufosinate (-acetyl GLUF), aminomethyl phosphonic acid (AMPA), -acetyl aminomethyl phosphonic acid (-acetyl AMPA), -acetyl glyphosate (-acetyl GLY), -methyl glyphosate (-methyl GLY) as the major metabolites obtained from GLUF and GLY. Extensive use of these herbicides may lead to their increased presence in the environment, especially aquatic ecosystems.

Hemodialysis and bioartificial kidney (BAK), which mimic both physical and biological functions, can significantly impact chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients. Here we report on Hollow fiber membranes (HFMs) with enhanced separation of uremic toxins along with enhanced hemocompatibility and biocompatibility that also promote the growth of kidney cells. The improvement arises from the addition of titanium dioxide (0.

The SH2-containing inositol phosphatase (SHIP) has become an actively researched therapeutic target for a number of disorders, including Alzheimer's Disease, Graft-vs-Host disease, obesity and cancer. Analogs of the aminosteroid SHIP inhibitor 3a-aminocholestane (3AC) have been synthesized and tested. Analogs with improved water solubility have been identified.

Reactive template method for synthesis of water-soluble fluorescent silver nanoclusters supported on the surface of cellulose nanofibers.

Carbohydr Polym

March 2025

Plant Fiber Material Science Research Center, State Key Laboratory of Pulp and Paper Engineering, School of Light Industry and Engineering, South China University of Technology, Guangzhou 510640, China.

There is an emerging quest for fabrication of water-soluble fluorescent silver nanoclusters (AgNCs) with long-lasting fluorescent properties and dimensional stability while being sustainable and functional. Thus, a well-known seed-mediated growth strategy has been developed to manufacture AgNCs supported onto carboxyl and aldehyde modified cellulose nanofiber (DATCNF) with ultra-small and intense fluorescence. The DATCNF acts as a reductant, template, and stabilizer while the protective ligand, 2-Mercaptonicotinic Acid (2-HMA), provides AgNCs with luminous characteristic and constrained size of 4.

Cellulose-based photo-curable chiral nematic ink for direct-ink-writing 3D printing.

Carbohydr Polym

March 2025

Jiangsu Co-Innovation Center for Efficient Processing and Utilization of Forest Resources and International Innovation Center for Forest Chemicals and Materials, Nanjing Forestry University, Nanjing 210037, China. Electronic address:

3D printing technology is one of the most promising strategies for constructing topological functional materials. The development of functional inks is a core issue in the technical development of 3D printing technology. In this study, we engineered photonic crystal inks based on chiral nematic liquid crystals of cellulose derivative, i.
