Substance P (SP) and neurotensin (NT), two structurally related peptides with contrasting biological actions, have been shown to have some role in peripheral reproductive processes. Intrauterine microinjection of SP or NT on day 4 or 5 of pregnancy in the rat significantly reduced the number of viable fetuses, weight and glycogen content of the uterus. The number of viable fetuses, uterine weight or glycogen content were not modified when SP/NT was microinjected on day 8, 9, 10 or on day 14, 15 and 16. The results indicate that the peptides possibly exert a direct local alteration in uterine vascular permeability causing failure in implantation.

Parkinson's disease (PD) is a neurological condition and is characterized by both motor and non-motor symptoms. Early diagnosis is essential for effective therapy and management; nevertheless, present diagnostic methods are frequently insufficient and primarily rely on clinical symptoms that appear later in the disease. Neuropeptides, such as alpha-synuclein (α-syn), Substance P (SP), neurotensin (Nts), Neuropeptide Y (NPY), and somatostatin (SST), exhibit significant potential as biomarkers for the early identification of Parkinson's disease (PD).

Class A G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) are key mediators in numerous signaling pathways and important drug targets for several diseases. A major shortcoming in GPCR ligand screening is the detection limit for weak binding molecules, which is especially critical for poorly druggable GPCRs. Here, we present a proximity-based screening system for class A GPCRs, which adopts the natural two-step activation mechanism of class B GPCRs.

Prenatal stress (PS) affects the development and functioning of the central nervous system, but the exact mechanisms underpinning this effect have not been pinpointed yet. A promising model of PS is one based on chronic exposure of pregnant rodents to variable-frequency ultrasound (US PS), as it mimics the PS with a psychic nature that most adequately captures the human stressors in modern society.
