Background: Diarrhea-dominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-D) is a deliberating and chronic condition that can impair social activities. Determining proper medication with satisfactory outcomes has been a challenge. This study reassesses the efficacy and safety of antidepressants in treating nonspecific chronic low back pain (NCLBP). A systematic review was conducted following PRISMA guidelines, including randomized clinical trials (RCTs) from PubMed, Embase, Scopus, LILACS, SciELO and Cochrane CENTRAL, published through August 2024. Studies compared antidepressants with placebo or active comparators.

Introduction: Antidepressants may lead to a series of sexual adverse effects (SAEs), among which ejaculation dysfunction (EjD) is often overlooked by clinicians. The purpose of the present network meta-analysis was to assist drug adjustment by comparing and ranking the incidence of EjD among various antidepressants.

Drugs that enhance the tone of the anal sphincter complex could potentially be an effective pharmacological approach. This study investigated the effect of the tricyclic antidepressant imipramine on anal sphincter tone in healthy women, employing anal acoustic reflectometry as the evaluating method.

: Several psychological conditions, including stress and depression, can adversely affect oral health; in fact, antidepressants, commonly used to treat depressive disorders, may have conflicting effects on the periodontal status of individuals. The aim of this review was to determine the effects of antidepressants on the periodontium. A literature search was conducted using electronic databases, Pubmed/MEDLINE, Cochrane Library, focusing on the use of antidepressants and their effects on periodontal health in animals or humans.
