Background: Primary squamous cell carcinoma of the thyroid (PSCCT) has recently been reclassified as a morphologic pattern of anaplastic thyroid carcinoma (ATC). Consequently, PSCCT and squamous cell carcinoma with papillary thyroid carcinoma (SCC-PTC) were categorized as ATC. Early diagnosis and treatment of differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC) significantly affect long-term outcomes, requiring the selection and application of appropriate initial treatments to improve prognosis and quality of life. Recent advances in technology and health information systems have enhanced our understanding of the molecular genetics of thyroid cancer, facilitating the identification of aggressive subgroups and enabling the accumulation of research on risk factors through big data.

Pheochromocytomas and paragangliomas are rare neuroendocrine tumors derived from the paraganglia. These tumors frequently secrete excessive amounts of catecholamines leading to cardiovascular and gastrointestinal complications. While all pheochromocytomas and paragangliomas possess the potential for metastasis, actual metastatic occurrences are observed in approximately one third of cases.
