Introduction: Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI) have improved the therapeutic arsenal in outpatient oncology care; however, data on necessity of hospitalizations associated with immune-related adverse events (irAEs) are scarce. Here, we characterized hospitalizations of patients undergoing ICI, from the prospective cohort study of the immune cooperative oncology group (ICOG) Hannover.
Methods: Between 12/2019 and 06/2022, 237 patients were included.

The characteristics of data produced by omics technologies are pivotal, as they critically influence the feasibility and effectiveness of computational methods applied in downstream analyses, such as data harmonization and differential abundance analyses. Furthermore, variability in these data characteristics across datasets plays a crucial role, leading to diverging outcomes in benchmarking studies, which are essential for guiding the selection of appropriate analysis methods in all omics fields. Additionally, downstream analysis tools are often developed and applied within specific omics communities due to the presumed differences in data characteristics attributed to each omics technology.

Human CblC catalyzes the indispensable processing of dietary vitamin B by the removal of its β-axial ligand and an either one- or two-electron reduction of its cobalt center to yield cob(II)alamin and cob(I)alamin, respectively. Human CblC possesses five cysteine residues of an unknown function. We hypothesized that Cys149, conserved in mammals, tunes the CblC reactivity.

Protein S-palmitoylation is the process by which a palmitoyl fatty acid is attached to a cysteine residue of a protein via a thioester bond. A range of methodologies are available for the detection of protein S-palmitoylation. In this study, two methods for the S-palmitoylation of different proteins were compared after metabolic labeling of cells with 15-hexadecynoic acid (15-YNE) to ascertain their relative usefulness.

Management of stored-product pests has historically relied on fumigation when pest populations become large. However, the ban of the fumigant methyl bromide and the ineffectiveness of other pesticides stress the need for alternative fumigants. Therefore, laboratory studies were conducted to evaluate the efficacy of ethanedinitrile (EDN) against different life stages of the mite and to determine the sorption and desorption of EDN by dry-cured ham meat.
