Pro-inflammatory cytokines, like interleukin-1 beta and interferon gamma, are known to activate signalling pathways causing pancreatic beta cell death and dysfunction, contributing to the onset of diabetes. Targeting cytokine signalling pathways offers a potential strategy to slow or even halt disease progression, reducing reliance on exogenous insulin and improving glucose regulation. This study explores the protective and proliferative effects of breitfussin C (BfC), a natural compound isolated from the Arctic marine hydrozoan Thuiaria breitfussi, on pancreatic beta cells exposed to pro-inflammatory cytokines.

We investigated and compared mortality rates and risk factors for pre-pandemic and pandemic all-cause mortality in a population-based cohort of men and women in Arkhangelsk, Russia. A prospective cohort study enrolled 2,324 participants aged 35 to 69 years between 2015 and 2017. All participants were followed up for all-cause deaths using the mortality registry.

Introduction: Tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes are both prognostic and predictive biomarkers for immunotherapy response. However, less is known about the survival benefits oftheir subpopulations.
Methods: Using machine learning models, we assessed the clinical association of the CD8+, PD1+, TCF1+ cel l subset by multiplex immunohistochemistry using tissue microarrays in 553 non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients and its correlation with other immune cell biomarkers.

Background And Purpose: Recommended treatment of urothelial muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC) is cisplatin-based neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) followed by cystectomy, but there are challenges with low utilization of NAC. We aimed to evaluate the utilization of NAC, perioperative complications and oncological efficacy in a real-world setting.
Patients And Methods: All patients operated with radical cystectomy at the University Hospital of North Norway during 2011-2021 for MIBC were included.
