Chitinase-3-like-1 (CHI3L1) is an evolutionarily conserved protein involved in key biological processes, including tissue remodeling, angiogenesis, and neuroinflammation. It has emerged as a significant player in various neurodegenerative diseases and brain disorders. Elevated CHI3L1 levels have been observed in neurological conditions such as traumatic brain injury (TBI), Alzheimer's disease (AD), Parkinson's disease (PD), Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD), multiple sclerosis (MS), Neuromyelitis optica (NMO), HIV-associated dementia (HAD), Cerebral ischemic stroke (CIS), and brain tumors.

Left atrial myxoma is the most prevalent primary cardiac tumor, known for its high risk of systemic embolization. Although surgical excision remains the standard treatment, options are limited for high-risk patients. This case report introduces a novel approach using transcatheter electrosurgery to address a left atrial myxoma via a transseptal approach in a patient ineligible for conventional surgery due to the heightened risk of intracranial hemorrhage associated with cerebral amyloid angiopathy.

Methods: UALCAN database was performed to predict APEX1 expression in ccRCC.

Chemotherapy remains a major therapeutic approach to cancer treatment. However, its effectiveness can be compromised by the heterogeneity of a solid tumor, in which different cancer cell populations display varied responses to chemotherapy. Such an intratumor heterogeneous structure is maintained by the cancer stem-like cells (CSCs) with inherent capacities for self-renewal and differentiation, giving rise to diverse cell populations.

After decades of gradual progress from conceptualization to early clinical trials (1960-2000), the therapeutic potential of bispecific antibodies (bisp Abs) is now being fully realized. Insights gained from both successful and unsuccessful trials are helping to identify which mechanisms of action, antibody formats, and targets prove most effective, and which may benefit from further refinement. While T-cell engagers remain the most commonly used class of bisp Abs, current efforts aim to increase their effectiveness by co-engaging costimulatory molecules, reducing escape mechanisms, and countering immunosuppression.
