Leptospiroz, insan ve hayvanları etkileyen, Antarktika hariç tüm kıtalarda bulunan ve Leptospira cinsi spiroketlerin neden olduğu zoonotik bir enfeksiyon hastalığıdır. Salgınlara yol açabilmesi nedeniyle halk sağlığı açısından önemli bir hastalıktır. Bu çalışmada; kliniğimizde leptospiroz tanısıyla izlenen 11 olgunun, epidemiyolojik özellikleri, saptanan etkenler, klinik ve laboratuvar bulguları açısından retrospektif olarak değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır.

Interactions between humans and livestock could increase the risk of zoonotic disease transmission. In addition, limited knowledge of zoonoses and foodborne diseases among livestock farmers could heighten the risks of foodborne illness and outbreaks of zoonotic diseases. This study evaluated the awareness of zoonotic diseases and preventive practices for zoonotic and foodborne diseases among livestock farmers of the Chitwan, Rupandehi, and Tanahun districts of Nepal by conducting a cross-sectional survey of 280 livestock farmers.

Background: Dengue and leptospirosis are prominent vector-borne diseases in tropical and subtropical regions, sharing overlapping geographic distribution and clinical presentations, which complicates diagnosis and management. Co-infection of these pathogens places additional strain on healthcare resources in endemic areas. This study aims to systematically estimate the prevalence and mortality rates of dengue and leptospirosis co-infections and assess their clinical implications.
