This review explores challenges and opportunities in developmental physiology outlined by a symposium at the 2014 American Physiological Society Intersociety Meeting: Comparative Approaches to Grand Challenges in Physiology. Across animal taxa, adverse embryonic/fetal environmental conditions can alter morphological and physiological phenotypes in juveniles or adults, and capacities for developmental plasticity are common phenomena. Human neonates with body sizes at the extremes of perinatal growth are at an increased risk of adult disease, particularly hypertension and cardiovascular disease.

The ACR Intersociety Committee: history, activities, and membership.

The Intersociety Committee is a freestanding committee of the ACR established to promote collegiality and improve communication among national radiology organizations. The Intersociety Committee began in 1980 with 22 member organizations and has grown to approximately 50 member organizations. Each year, the Intersociety Committee sponsors a summer conference, at which representatives from the member organizations discuss issues facing radiology.

Objective: The study aims to evaluate the safety and the efficacy of primary stenting for Trans-Atlantic Inter-Society Consensus Document II on Management of Peripheral Arterial Disease (TASC) C and D femoropopliteal lesions.

Design: Prospective cohort study.
