Background/objectives: Patients with ovarian cancer commonly experience metastases and recurrences, which contribute to high mortality. Our objective was to better understand ovarian cancer metastasis and identify candidate biomarkers and drug targets for predicting and preventing ovarian cancer recurrence.
Methods: Transcripts of 770 cancer-associated genes were compared in cells collected from ascitic fluid versus resected tumors of an ES-2 orthotopic ovarian cancer mouse model.
Background Aims: SBP leads to high rates acute kidney injury (AKI) -hepatorenal syndrome and mortality. Population-based studies on contemporary SBP epidemiology are needed to inform care. In a large, national cohort of patients diagnosed with SBP and confirmed by ascitic fluid criteria, we characterized ascitic fluid characteristics, in-hospital and 12-month mortality, AKI, and recurrent SBP.

Multimodal treatment strategies, including neoadjuvant therapy, surgery, and postoperative adjuvant therapy, are contributing to a paradigm shift in the treatment of pancreatic cancer. This strategy is also promising in the treatment of pancreatic neck-body cancer.
