Robust CD8 T cell responses are critical for the control of HIV infection in both adults and children. Our understanding of the mechanisms driving these responses is based largely on studies of cells circulating in peripheral blood in adults, but the regulation of CD8 T cell responses in tissue sites is poorly understood, particularly in pediatric infections. DNA methylation is an epigenetic modification that regulates gene transcription.

A comprehensive diagnostic workup including serology, skin biopsy and imaging studies led to the initial diagnosis of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection in AIDS stage with rare multilocular subcutaneous bacillary angiomatosis (BA) caused by Bartonella henselae. BA describes a process of neovascularisation of the skin or of internal organs (particularly the liver and spleen) and was first described in HIV-positive patients by Stoler et al.

Only one study to date has focused on people living with HIV (PLWH) who refused to participate in a HIV cure/remission-related clinical trial (HCCT)-"decliners" hereafter-that included analytical treatment interruption (ATI). Exploring why these persons refuse may provide valuable information to ensure more ethical recruitment and support in HCCTs within the bigger picture of improving HIV cure research. The qualitative component of the AMEP-EHVA-T02/ANRS-95052 study, called AMEP-Decliners, documented the experiences of French PLWH who refused to participate in EHVA-T02/ANRS-VRI07, a phase II randomized, placebo-controlled HCCT with ATI.

Background: Several health, environmental, and lifestyle-related factors have been separately linked to multiple sclerosis (MS) by different studies. However, these studies did not adequately account for the temporal association of these factors with MS while considering the influence of other variables in the analysis. A comprehensive investigation of these factors remains scarce.
