Historically, metastatic spinal tumors have been treated using open spinal fixation, invasive decompressive techniques, and low-dose palliative conventional external beam radiotherapy. As patients with metastatic disease are now living longer, the need for long-term local tumor control is becoming important. Spine stereotactic body radiotherapy has emerged as a valuable alternative option to achieve long-term local tumor control by delivering high doses of radiation to tumors and sparing the spinal cord.

Prostate Artery Embolization (PAE) is a novel minimally invasive angiographic technique that has been used effectively to treat men with lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) from benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). However, applications of PAE for men with prostate cancer have been minimally studied. This review serves as an update on the status of PAE in men with prostate cancer, as well as a discussion of emerging indications.

Background: The current standard of care (SoC) for patients with extensive-disease small-cell lung cancer (ED-SCLC) is chemo-immunotherapy. The efficacy of radiotherapy (RT) for chest consolidation has been established for patients with ED-SCLC who have responded to chemotherapy. There is a lack of data on incorporating RT as chest consolidation and metastasis-directed therapy for ED-SCLC.

Low anterior resection syndrome is a common but underestimated complication after rectal cancer surgery that significantly impacts the quality of life of the surviving patient. It is characterized by symptoms such as fecal incontinence and voiding dysfunction and affects up to 90% of patients undergoing low anterior rectal resection. The etiology of the syndrome is multifactorial with no clear determining factor.

At the Fifth Assisi Think Tank Meeting (ATTM) on breast cancer, one key topic was the role of tumor bed boost in invasive breast cancer and ductal carcinoma in situ. The need for a tumor bed boost after whole breast irradiation is controversial. A literature review assessed boost indications, target volume definition, techniques, dose fractionation, and ongoing trials.
