Slow transformation efficiency of Fe(III)/Fe(II) limits the generation of radicals in peroxymonosulfate (PMS)-based advanced oxidation processes (AOPs), and these radicals was easy to be interfered by the presence of water constituents. In addition, in-situ coagulation during this oxidation process was neglected. This study proposed Fe(II)/PMS-Mn(VII) in the presence of chlorides ions (FPMC) process to reveal multiple promoting effects of Mn on redox cycle of Fe(III)/Fe(II) and different reactive mechanisms of Cl on types of radicals generation pathways, and the in-situ coagulation enhanced mechanisms was investigated.

Background: Parasitic nematodes significantly undermine global human and animal health and productivity. Parasite control is reliant on anthelmintic administration however over-use of a limited number of drugs has resulted in escalating parasitic nematode resistance, threatening the sustainability of parasite control and underscoring an urgent need for the development of novel therapeutics. FMRFamide-like peptides (FLPs), the largest family of nematode neuropeptides, modulate nematode behaviours including those important for parasite survival, highlighting FLP receptors (FLP-GPCRs) as appealing putative novel anthelmintic targets.

This study focused on the formulation, electron beam (e-beam) crosslinking, and characterisation of hydrogels enriched with lavender oil (LO) to enhance their structural and functional properties for biomedical applications. Stable hydrogels were synthesised using water-soluble polymers and suitable ratios of Tween 80 and Isopropyl alcohol (IPA) as surfactant and co-surfactant, respectively, via e-beam irradiation at doses up to 70 kGy. The most effective crosslinking was achieved with a radiation dose of 30 kGy, depending on the concentrations of surfactants and LO.

Mycobacteroides abscessus is a non-tuberculous mycobacteria implicated in causing lung infections. It is difficult to control owing to resistance to antibiotics and disinfectants. This work was aimed at comprehending: the pan-genome architecture, evolutionary dynamics, and functionalities of pan-genome components linked to COGs and KEGG.

Machine-learning interatomic potential models based on graph neural network architectures have the potential to make atomistic materials modeling widely accessible due to their computational efficiency, scalability, and broad applicability. The training datasets for many such models are derived from density-functional theory calculations, typically using a semilocal exchange-correlation functional. As a result, long-range interactions such as London dispersion are often missing in these models.
