3D scanner's potential as a novel tool for lymphedema measurement in mouse hindlimb models.

Lymphedema is characterized by persistent swelling due to impaired lymphatic function and presents significant challenges in both research and clinical settings. Traditional contact-based measurement techniques such as paw thickness and circumferential measurements using calipers or silk thread are useful but limited by observer variability and measurement accuracy. Non-contact methods, including various imaging techniques, offer improvements but often at higher cost and complexity.

Background: Molecular xenomonitoring (MX) is one of the recommended post-validation surveillance tools to detect early signals of lymphatic filariasis (LF) infection. This study reports the MX results of Culex quinquefasciatus transmitted Wuchereria bancrofti in three evaluation units of different settings in India.

Methods: Female Cx.

Introduction: The real-world safety profiles of the demethylating agents Azacitidine and Decitabine remain inadequately characterized despite their widespread clinical use. Both drugs are extensively employed for the treatment of hematologic malignancies such as myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) and acute myeloid leukemia (AML). This study aims to evaluate their adverse event (AE) profiles by leveraging data from the U.

Background: Sensitive diagnostic tools that signal lymphatic filariasis (LF) transmission are needed to monitor the progress of LF elimination programs. Anti-filarial antibody (Ab) markers could be more sensitive than antigen (Ag) point-of-care tests for monitoring LF transmission in some settings. This study aimed to investigate the sensitivity of anti-filarial Abs for detecting signals of LF transmission in Samoa by i) investigating the sensitivity and specificity of Ab to identify Ag-positives; ii) estimating the average number needed to test (NNTestav) to identify LF-seropositives (seropositive for Ag and/or any Ab), and iii) compare the efficiency of the different serological indicators by target age group and sampling design.

High blood levels of N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) have been shown in various malignancies. In lung cancer, the importance of NT-proBNP is not clear. In this study, we aimed to investigate the significance of the correlation of NT-proBNP levels in lung cancer with tumor stage, tumor diameter, histopathology, and specific sites of mediastinal metastasis: lymphadenopathy; pericardial, cardiac, major vessel, other mediastinal organ or lymphatic involvement/invasion.
