Edema of the psoas major muscle can indicate various pathologies, such as infection, malignancy, and trauma, but it can also result from benign causes like delayed-onset muscle soreness (DOMS). This article presents the case of a 44-year-old female patient who developed DOMS in the psoas major after participating in an intense abdominal workout. The patient reported hip pain that began a day after the workout, which was confirmed by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealing significant edema in the psoas major muscles, particularly on the right side.

Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) is an effective and safe treatment method for many psychiatric disorders. In general medical practice, ECT may cause side effects as most other treatment methods do. Headache, myalgia, nausea, vomiting, confusion, anterograde amnesia are common side effects of electroconvulsive therapy.

Objective: The objective of this study was to investigate the clinical and laboratory features of acute benign myositis associated with influenza A virus infection in children.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed on the clinical data of 118 children with acute benign myositis associated with influenza A virus infection who were admitted to the Children's Hospital of Chongqing Medical University during the epidemic period of influenza A from February 2023 to May 2023.
Results: (1) Most of the 118 children were preschool- or school-age.

Benign acute childhood myositis (BACM) is a mild and self-limited sudden onset of lower extremity pain during or following recovery from a viral illness. It is characterized by difficulty walking due to severe bilateral calf pain, which usually resolves in three days. It is typically appreciated during times of large influenza outbreaks and epidemics.
