From the results of examination of 60 healthy boys the authors suggest a thermographic characteristics of the scrotum in different age groups. It is shown with high authenticity that the temperature of the scrotum reduces with age. Besides, there is an authentic increase of temperature of the scrotum on the left side in children aged from 11 to 14 years. Examination of 317 boys who underwent operation for cryptorchidism showed the temperature to be increased by 0.6-0.8 degree C in the early and by 0.1-0.4 degree C in the late-term postoperative period. Distant thermography was found to be highly informative in studying the scrotal temperature regimen in healthy children and in those with cryptorchidism in the postoperative period.

Cryptorchidism, the absence of one or both testicles in the scrotum, is the most common anomaly of genitourinary tract in males. The pathogenesis of undescended testes is unknown however the role of inflammation, tissue remodeling and oxidative stress is postulated. The aim of this study was to explore the role of HSP-70, MMP-3, MMP-17 and IL-8 in possible pathogenic pathways connected with cryptorchidism.

Article Synopsis
  • Cryptorchidism is a common congenital condition in newborn males where one or both testes fail to descend into the scrotum, leading to potential infertility due to azoospermia.
  • Research using a mouse model of surgically induced cryptorchidism revealed changes in the epigenetic markers H3K27me3 and H3K9me3 in spermatogonial cells, with a specific loss of H3K27me3 linked to gene activation related to development and apoptosis.
  • The study indicates that elevated temperatures may enhance the activity of enzymes that demethylate H3K27, contributing to mRNA dysregulation and potentially impacting spermatogonial function.

Aim: To present a case of scrotal gangrene secondary to Staphylococcus aureus infection, highlighting the importance of early intervention and multidisciplinary care in the management of Fournier's gangrene.

Case Presentation: This case report details the clinical course of a 67-year-old male who presented with severe perineal pain and swelling, later diagnosed as Fournier's gangrene due to Staphylococcus aureus infection. The patient underwent emergency surgical debridement and received antibiotic therapy.

  • Environmental heat stress negatively impacts reproductive efficiency in farm animals, specifically prepubertal Ossimi ram lambs exposed to severe heat conditions in this study.* -
  • The study assessed the effects of melatonin and nano melatonin treatment on various reproductive parameters, finding that both treatments improved testicular function and structure compared to a control group.* -
  • Results showed significant increases in testicular volume, echotexture, and antioxidant levels in the treated groups, although testosterone levels remained unchanged.*

This study aimed to evaluate the feasibility of performing multiple testicular biopsies in rams using Tru-cut® needles, assessing histological structure, gene expression, and potential complications such as effects on semen quality, testicular blood flow, and ultrasonographic echotexture. In Exp. 1, six mature rams underwent testicular biopsies at intervals (0, 3, 6, 12, 24, and 48 h) using a 16 G Tru-cut® needle, with alternating testes for each collection.
