Background: Non-functional adrenal incidentaloma (NFAI) is associated with an increased risk of adverse cardiometabolic outcome. Identifying predictors of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) may enable more appropriate management strategies in patients with NFAI. We aimed to investigate the body composition parameters and ASCVD risk in patients with NFAI.

Background: Hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis recovery after cessation of steroid therapy in children with nephrotic syndrome (NS) has hardly been studied in the literature.
Methods: This 22-month cross-sectional study recruited children (2-14 years) with NS, having received a minimum 3 months of prednisolone, now in remission, and off steroids for 1, 3, or 6 months. Serum cortisol-basal and stimulated (with long-acting intramuscular adrenocorticotropic hormone), and factors affecting them, were assessed.

With changes in the social environment typified by COVID-19, an increasing number of people are suffering from mental stress in interpersonal relationships and the resulting fatigue in recent years. L-ornithine oral ingestion reportedly suppresses the secretion of cortisol, a stress marker, through the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis. However, there is insufficient research to determine whether L-ornithine exerts an ameliorative effect on social stress.

Diverse feeding habits in teleosts involve a wide range of appetite-regulating factors. As an appetite-suppressing gene, the polymorphisms of in largemouth bass () were validated via sequencing and high-resolution melting (HRM). The frequency distribution of different genotypes were analyzed in two populations, and physiological responses of different genotypes to feed domestication were investigated.
