Purpose: Epicardial adipose tissue (EAT) could contribute to the specific atherosclerosis profile observed in premature coronary artery disease (pCAD) characterized by accelerated plaque burden (calcified and non-calcified), high risk plaque features (HRP) and ischemic recurrence. Our aims were to describe EAT volume and density in pCAD compared to asymptomatic individuals matched on CV risk factors and to study their relationship with coronary plaque severity extension and vulnerability.
Materials And Methods: 208 patients who underwent coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) were analyzed.

Objectives: Multiple studies have described the onset and variable incidence of postoperative acute vertigo following cochlear implant (CI) surgery. However, postoperative imaging has not yet been specifically evaluated with special focus on vertigo. The aim of this study is to assess the incidence and causes of new-onset, acute postoperative vertigo following CI surgery using cone beam computed tomography (CBCT).

To address this knowledge gap, we carried out single-cell multiomics assays to investigate gene expression, chromatin accessibility, DNA methylome and 3D chromatin architecture in human retina, macula, and retinal pigment epithelium (RPE)/choroid. We identified 420,824 unique candidate regulatory elements and characterized their chromatin states in 23 sub-classes of retinal cells.

Background: Syphilis is a sexually transmitted infection (STI) that can be prevented and effectively treated; yet it continues to be a cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. There is a limited understanding of the epidemiology of syphilis in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
Methods: A systematic review conducted up to April 30, 2024 assessed the prevalence of syphilis and followed PRISMA guidelines, without language and date restrictions.

Introduction: NF-κB plays a pivotal role in the progression of cancers, including myosarcomas such as fibrosarcoma. Plants possess considerable potential for the provision of chemotherapeutic effects against cancer. The present study assessed, among others, the cytotoxicity, migration capacity and DNA damage induced by several natural compounds (berberine, curcumin, biochanin A, cucurbitacin E (CurE) and phenethyl caffeic acid (CAPE)) in cancer cells (WEHI-164) and normal muscle cells (L6).
