Gastrointestinal (GI) cancer patients undergoing surgery are particularly vulnerable to malnutrition, which can significantly impact surgical outcomes. Prehabilitation interventions encompassing nutritional, physical, and psychosocial support have gained attention for their potential to mitigate these risks. However, the efficacy of multidisciplinary prehabilitation programs in this context remains underexplored.

Purpose: Pregnancy induces significant metabolic, immunological, and endocrinological changes to support fetal growth. The 75-gram oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) is standard for gestational diabetes screening, but concerns exist about its potential to induce oxidative stress, affecting both maternal and fetal health. The aim of the study is examining changes in oxidative stress markers and thiol/disulfide homeostasis in pregnant women to evaluate these concerns.

Quantifying epicardial adipose tissue (EAT) volume provides insight into its correlation with coronary artery disease (CAD) severity and associated risk factors. Previous research indicates higher pericardial adipose tissue in individuals with schizophrenia compared to non-schizophrenic counterparts.

Lithium carbonate has a narrow therapeutic range capable of producing various adverse effects; despite this fact, it is used as first-line therapy in patients with bipolar disorder (BD) thanks to its high effectiveness. Among its adverse events are several conditions at the endocrine level, such as hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, hypercalcemia, hyperparathyroidism, and nephrogenic diabetes insipidus. The adherence to current guidelines for monitoring those events is low.
