In this paper, we characterize Lipschitzian properties of different multiplier-free and multiplier-dependent perturbation mappings associated with the stationarity system of a so-called generalized nonlinear program popularized by Rockafellar. Special emphasis is put on the investigation of the isolated calmness property at and around a point. The latter is decisive for the locally fast convergence of the so-called semismooth* Newton-type method by Gfrerer and Outrata.

The economic onslaught of the COVID-19 pandemic has compromised the risk management of financial institutions. The consequences related to such an unprecedented situation are difficult to foresee with certainty using traditional methods. The regulatory credit loss attached to defaulted mortgages, so-called expected loss best estimate (ELBE), is forecasted using a machine learning technique.

The repair of photosystem II is a key mechanism that keeps the light reactions of oxygenic photosynthesis functional. During this process, the PSII central subunit D1 is replaced with a newly synthesized copy while the neighbouring CP43 antenna with adjacent small subunits (CP43 module) is transiently detached. When the D2 protein is also damaged, it is degraded together with D1 leaving both the CP43 module and the second PSII antenna module CP47 unassembled.

We consider a simple example of a one-parameter family of random maps in the interval that exhibits a phase transition phenomenon in the sense of a spontaneous transition from non-existence to existence of an absolutely continuous invariant measure by changing the parameter. For this example of random maps, we estimate numerically the critical value at which the so-called transition occurs. This is done through the numerical computation of its invariant densities and the Lyapunov exponent.

Pediatric trigger thumb is the new terminology for the so-called congenital trigger thumb. This change in appellation was suggested based on recent knowledge acquired through prospective studies of a large number of newborns for the presence of trigger thumb at birth across many centers. In this background, we came across a newborn with trigger thumb which was diagnosed right after birth, putting aside all theories of nonexistence of congenital trigger thumb.
