Lack of awareness of symptoms or having a condition referred to as anosognosia is a common feature of individuals with Alzheimer's Disease (AD). Previous literature on AD reported difficulties in evaluating self-abilities, often showing underestimation of limitations. There is increasing evidence that the perspective through which information is presented may moderate the performance appraisal and that anosognosia in AD might be a consequence of a deficit in assuming a third-person perspective.

Global assessments of mycorrhizal symbiosis present large sampling gaps in rich biodiversity regions. Filling these gaps is necessary to build large-scale, unbiased mycorrhizal databases to obtain reliable analyses and prevent misleading generalizations. Underrepresented regions in mycorrhizal research are mainly in Africa, Asia, and South America.

Areas used for agriculture are a large source of carbon emissions, but there is great potential for reducing them. Land consolidation, through the comprehensive reorganization of the spatial arrangement of farms, can reduce emissions as a result of reducing fuel consumption. The subjects of this study are the veracity of this statement and the scope of variation in the potential reduction of carbon emissions.

Evolution of the connectivity and indispensability of a transferable gene: the simplicity hypothesis.

Background: The number of interactions between a transferable gene or its protein product and genes or gene products native to its microbial host is referred to as connectivity. Such interactions impact the tendency of the gene to be retained by evolution following horizontal gene transfer (HGT) into a microbial population. The complexity hypothesis posits that the protein product of a transferable gene with lower connectivity is more likely to function in a way that is beneficial to a new microbial host compared to the protein product of a transferable gene with higher connectivity.
