Solvent-Free Artificial Light-Harvesting System in a Fluid Donor with Highly Efficient Förster Resonance Energy Transfer.

J Phys Chem Lett

January 2025

Key Laboratory of Colloid and Interface Chemistry, Ministry of Education, School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Shandong University, Jinan, Shandong 250100, China.

Multi-step Förster resonance energy transfer (FRET) plays a vital role in photosynthesis. While the energy transfer efficiency (Φ) of a naturally occurring system can reach 95%, that of most artificial light-harvesting systems (ALHSs) is still limited. Herein, we propose a strategy to construct highly efficient ALHSs using a blue-emitting, supercooled ionic compound of naphthalimide (NPI) as the donor, a green-emitting BODIPY derivate as a relay acceptor, and a commercially available, red-emitting dye [rhodamine B (RhB)] as the final acceptor.

Background: Regenerating periodontal ligament (PDL) tissue is a vital challenge in dentistry that aims to restore periodontal function and aesthetics. This study explores a tissue engineering strategy that combines polycaprolactone (PCL)/collagen/cellulose acetate electrospun scaffolds with collagen hydrogels to deliver curcumin-loaded ZIF-8 nanoparticles fand periodontal ligament stem cells (PDLSCs).

Methods: Scaffolds were fabricated via electrospinningand collagen hydrogels incorporated PDLSCs and curcumin-loaded ZIF-8 nanoparticles (CURZIF-8) were developed using cross-linking.

Insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) plays a vital role in various cellular processes, including those involving stem cells. This study evaluated the effects of IGF-1 on cell survival, osteogenic differentiation, and mRNA expression in gingiva-derived mesenchymal stem cell spheroids. Using concave microwells, spheroids were generated in the presence of IGF-1 at concentrations of 0, 10, and 100 ng/mL.

Green approach to synthesis polymer composites based on chitosan with desired linear and non-linear optical characteristics.

Sci Rep

January 2025

Turning Trash to Treasure Laboratory (TTTL), Research and Development Center, University of Sulaimani, Qlyasan Street, Kurdistan Regional Government, Sulaymaniyah, 46001, Iraq.

The current study used sustainable and green approaches to convey polymer composites with desired optical properties. The extracted green tea dye (GTD) enriched with ligands was used to synthesize zinc metal complexes. Green chitosan biopolymer incorporated with green synthesized metal complex using casting technique was used to deliver polymer composites with improved optical properties.

Introduction: Monogenic diseases can be diagnosed before birth. Systemic fetal administration of nanoparticles (NPs) grants therapeutic access to developing stem cell populations impacted by these classes of disease. Delivery of editing reagents in these NPs administered before birth has yielded encouraging results in preclinical mouse models of monogenic diseases.
