Avian coccidiosis, caused by protozoan parasites of the genus Eimeria, is a globally prevalent and highly pathogenic disease that poses a serious threat to the poultry industry, resulting in significant economic losses. However, the mechanism by which Eimeria species invade host cells remains unclear. Previous studies have identified rhoptry neck protein 2 (RON2) from Eimeria tenella as a critical factor in host cell invasion, but a comprehensive understanding of the role of EtRON2 in host cell invasion and its relationship with E.

The black grouse (Tetrao tetrix) is an endangered species facing challenges in breeding and reintroduction programs, including parasitic infestations. This study aimed to assess natural infestations by various Eimeria species and infestation dynamics in female, male, and young black grouse kept in a stationary aviary. Faecal samples were collected from adult grouses between April and the time of chicks' hatching and rearing (September).

Eimeria tenella, an obligate intracellular apicomplexan parasite, is the major causative agent of chicken coccidiosis. Some epidermal growth factor (EGF)-like domain-containing proteins of other members of apicomplexan parasites have been reported to contribute to parasite survival. To date, however, EGF-like domain-containing proteins of E.

Between 2018 and 2020, over 100 wild turkey fecal samples were collected from the Eastern and Central thirds of the United States, where commercial turkey production is uncommon. We hypothesized that anticoccidial-sensitive Eimeria spp. would be present in wild turkey fecal samples.

In the modern poultry industry, the application of novel phytogenic bioactive compounds with antioxidant potential aims to enhance productivity and quality and to minimize the stress of associated diseases. Herein, myricetin, a natural flavonoid, was evaluated for the first time on broiler chickens' performance, antioxidants and immune modulating functions, and tackling avian coccidiosis. A total of 500 one-day-old chicks were divided into five groups.
