Dinuclear enantiopure Ln complexes with (-) and (-) 2-phenylbutyrate ligands. Luminescence, CPL and magnetic properties.

Dalton Trans

August 2024

Departament de Química Inorgànica i Orgànica, Secció de Química Inorgànica, Universitat de Barcelona, Martí i Franquès 1-11, 08028 Barcelona, Spain.

The reaction of Ln(NO)·6HO (Ln = Nd, Sm, Eu, Tb, Dy, Tm and Yb) with the respective enantiopure ()-(-)-2-phenylbutyric or ()-(+)-2-phenylbutyric acid (/-2-HPhBut) and 4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline (Bphen) allows the isolation of chiral dinuclear compounds of the formula [Ln(μ-/-2-PhBut)(/-2PhBut)(Bphen)] where Ln = Nd (R/S-Nd-a), Sm (R/S-Sm-a), Eu (R/S-Eu-a), Tb (R/S-Tb-a and R/S-Tb-b), Dy (R/S-Dy-a and R/S-Dy-b), Tm (R/S-Tm-b) and Yb (R/S-Yb-b). Single crystal X-ray diffraction was performed for compounds S-Eu-a and S-Tm-b. Powder crystal X-ray diffraction was performed for all complexes.

Nine types of hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin (HP-β-CD) with different degrees and distributions of substitution were synthesised, and nine racemates were selected to investigate the effect of different degrees and distributions of substitution of HP-β-CD on the enantioseparation factor. H NMR and GC/MS were used to characterise the synthesised HP-β-CD. The degree and distribution of substitution had a significant influence on enantioselective liquid-liquid extraction and enantioseparation by countercurrent chromatography.

There are two types of cytochrome P450 enzymes in nature, namely, the monooxygenases and the peroxygenases. Both enzyme classes participate in substrate biodegradation or biosynthesis reactions in nature, but the P450 monooxygenases use dioxygen, while the peroxygenases take HO in their catalytic cycle instead. By contrast to the P450 monooxygenases, the P450 peroxygenases do not require an external redox partner to deliver electrons during the catalytic cycle, and also no external proton source is needed.

Rumen microbiome structure and metabolites activity in dairy cows with clinical and subclinical mastitis.

J Anim Sci Biotechnol

February 2021

State Key Laboratory of Animal Nutrition, Institute of Animal Science, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Beijing, 100193, China.

Background: Due to the high prevalence and complex etiology, bovine mastitis (BM) is one of the most important diseases to compromise dairy cow health and milk quality. The shift in milk compositions has been widely investigated during mastitis, but recent studies suggested that gastrointestinal microorganism also has a crucial effect on the inflammation of other peripheral tissues and organs, including the mammary gland. However, research focused on the variation of rumen inner-environment during mastitis is still limited.
