AD is a chronic inflammatory skin disorder with a complex pathophysiology that predisposes patients to EH. This case concerns a boy presenting with oral pain and multiple mucocutaneous lesions such as mucositis, conjunctivitis, and a rash on the trunk, extremities, and genitalia. The presence of mild respiratory complaints raised suspicion of an extrapulmonary manifestation of , known as -induced Rash and Mucositis (MIRM). The patient underwent conservative treatment and was monitored to prevent chronic sequels such as ocular damage or sicca keratoconjunctivits.

Trastuzumab is now increasingly being used as a potent HER2 inhibitor in treating breast cancer, while acneiform rashes sometimes arise as skin-related side effects in patients undergoing treatment with HER2 inhibitors, and their specificity as drug-induced eruptions makes their management quite challenging. Pulsed dye laser (PDL) therapy has been utilized to treat a wide variety of vascular lesions, achieving excellent outcomes. A 595 nm PDL was used to treat a 38-year-old woman suffering from an acneiform rash induced by trastuzumab as neoadjuvant therapy for breast cancer.

Symptoms and presentation vary based on severity of illness, with more serious complications of disease consisting of neurologic and cardiac dysfunction. Testing is often unreliable, which can lead to delayed diagnosis and management.
