Objective: Lymphoepithelial carcinoma (LEC) is a rare and malignant epithelial tumor characterized by poorly differentiated carcinoma with lymphoplasmacytic infiltrate. This study utilizes the National Cancer Database (NCDB) to analyze demographic, clinical, and treatment factors affecting overall survival and evaluate the impact of treatment modalities and socioeconomic factors on outcomes.
Methods: Patients with LEC were identified in the NCDB between 2004 and 2020.

This work aims to model the influence of biofuels on localized "pitting" corrosion that occurs at the bottom of atmospheric storage tanks. To achieve this purpose, an electro-chemical phase-field model is proposed to include the extra chemical reaction due to the presence of organic acids in an electrolyte solution. The resulting set of nonlinear coupled partial differential equations is numerically integrated by means of finite element methods with a twofold aim: tracking the evolution of the metal/electrolyte interface and predicting the corrosion rates observed when either single or multiple interacting pits are formed in the bottom of a carbon steel tank.

Background: Pembrolizumab has been approved as a first-line treatment for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients. However, a percentage of patients discontinue immunotherapy due to immune-related adverse events (irAE). Among these events, immune-related endocrine toxicities (E-irAE) represents the most common form, though their etiology, risk factors, and impact on patient outcomes remain poorly understood.

Superhydrophobic and liquid-infused surfaces are the most prominent techniques to achieve drag reduction in microchannels. However, they have specific drawbacks such as costly fabrication of complex and mechanically sensitive surfaces, surfaces susceptible to lubricant abrasion or involve hazardous chemicals. We present a partially substrateless microchannel whose upper wall features a large no-shear air/water meniscus at atmospheric pressure.

Methylmercury (CHHg(I)), produced by the action of aquatic bacteria on inorganic mercury, is the most hazardous among the mercury species. To date, no ratiometric fluorescent probes have been reported for the detection of both CHHg(I) and Hg(II) in aquatic environments and in live cells. Herein, we designed a novel fluorescent probe incorporating a peptide containing a histidine residue with self-assembly properties specific to both mercury species and a fluorophore that exhibits red-shifted emissions upon aggregation.
