In case of failure to detect a vault fracture in fatal head injury the physician is often accused of medical negligence. The material for the study consisted of a macerated vault with fractures in different widths. In order to detect the threshold of perceptibility it underwent radiographic examination taking pictures under different projections. Our finding is that the presence or absence of a radiographic fracture depends on the width and direction of the fracture. Therefore it is impossible to detect every single linear fracture of the vault in routine skull examination. Clinical and medico-legal consequences are discussed.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a chronic form of inflammatory bowel disease, which current treatments often show limited effectiveness. Ferroptosis, a newly recognized form of programmed cell death has been implicated in UC pathogenesis, suggesting that it may be viable therapeutic target. Tetrastigma hemsleyanum (TH) has shown potential anti-UC effects, though it is unclear whether its therapeutic benefits are mediated by ferroptosis.

Ketone bodies generated in hepatocytes in the adult liver are used for nonhepatic tissues as an energy source. However, ketolysis is reactivated in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cells with largely unelucidated mechanisms. Here, we demonstrate that 3-oxoacid CoA-transferase 1 (OXCT1), a rate-limiting enzyme in ketolysis, interacts with SUCLA2 upon IGF1 stimulation in HCC cells.

Rare earth elements (REEs) are crucial metallic resources that play an essential role in national economies and industrial production. The reclaimation of REEs from wastewater stands as a significant supplementary strategy to bolster the REEs supply. Adsorption techniques are widely recognized as environmentally friendly and sustainable methods for the separation of REEs from wastewater.
