Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic autoimmune disease marked by systemic inflammation. While RA primarily affects the joints, its systemic effects may lead to an increased cerebro- and cardiovascular risk. Atherosclerosis of the carotid arteries is a significant risk factor for cerebrovascular events and serves as a surrogate marker for cardiovascular risk.

Background: Currently, the pathophysiology of new bone formation in radiographic axial spondyloarthritis (r-axSpA) remains unclear. Cellular elements and their secreted bone turnover markers might be one of the underlying mechanisms that drive the new bone formation. Our study aimed to investigate the role of bone turnover markers in r-axSpA patients with fatty lesions.

The aim of this study is to evaluate the association of systemic inflammation measured by plasma biomarkers with the change in cognitive function among participants from the Multidomain Alzheimer Preventive Trial (MAPT) exposed to the multidomain intervention (MI). Secondary analysis of the MAPT longitudinal data. MAPT is a randomized, placebo-controlled trial with 3 interventional groups (omega-3 only, MI only, omega-3 plus MI) and a control group.

Background: Post-pancreatectomy acute pancreatitis (PPAP) is an early acute inflammatory process of the pancreatic remnant that is associated with a series of downstream pancreas-specific complications. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between postoperative serum C-reactive protein (CRP) levels and the occurrence of PPAP after pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD).
Methods: Consecutive patients who underwent PD between January 1, 2020, and May 31, 2022, were retrospectively analyzed.
