This proposal presents a proof of concept for the use of pulmonary flow restrictors (PFRs) based on MVP™-devices, drawing from clinical experience, and explores their potential role in the management of newborns with hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS), other complex left heart lesions, and infants with end-stage dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM). At this early stage of age, manually adjusted PFRs can be tailored to patient's size and hemodynamic needs. Although currently used off-label, PFRs have substantial potential to improve outcomes in these vulnerable patient populations.

Motivation: The increasing availability of electronic health record (EHR) systems has created enormous potential for translational research. Recent developments in representation learning techniques have led to effective large-scale representations of EHR concepts along with knowledge graphs that empower downstream EHR studies. However, most existing methods require training with patient-level data, limiting their abilities to expand the training with multi-institutional EHR data.

CDK4/6 inhibitors are effective in treating HR/HER2 breast cancer but face limitations due to therapeutic resistance and hematological toxicity, particularly from strong CDK6 inhibition. To address these challenges, designing selective inhibitors targeting specific cyclin-dependent kinases (CDK) members could offer clinical advantages and broaden CDK inhibitor indications. However, the highly conserved binding pockets of CDKs complicate selective targeting.

Background: Individuals with latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI) have a high risk of active infection, morbidity and mortality. Healthcare workers are a group who have increased risk of infection and onward transmission to their patients and other susceptible individuals; however, LTBI is often undiagnosed, and individuals are asymptomatic. Interferon gamma release assays (IGRA) can detect evidence of TB infection in otherwise asymptomatic individuals and are a good indication of LTBI.

Introduction: Pediatric-onset Crohn's disease (CD) has a more severe phenotype than adult-onset, and nearly one-third of pediatric CD patients will require surgical therapy. There is limited data on patient/disease characteristics that are associated with earlier surgical management.
Methods: All pediatric CD patients (<22 yrs) who underwent ileocolectomy from 2005 to 2021 were included.
