Extensive agricultural regions commonly face issues of poor groundwater management, non-standard agricultural production practices, and unordered discharge of domestic pollution, leading to a continuous decline in groundwater quality and a sharp increase in risks. A comprehensive understanding of groundwater conditions and pollution is a crucial step in effectively addressing the water quality crisis. This study employs the Comprehensive Water Quality Index, Irrigation parameter, and Pollution Index to comprehensively investigate the groundwater quality in a typical agricultural area in Shandong, China, and assesses the suitability of groundwater for irrigation and the risks to human health.

In the growing field of geriatric psychiatry, the "3 Ds"-depression, dementia, and delirium-are a complex clinical challenge, especially in patients with medical comorbidities. This is a case report of a 96-year-old Saudi woman with chronic kidney disease, heart failure, and recurrent hyponatremia presented with worsening sleep, depression, persecutory delusions, and hallucinations following an intensive care unit (ICU) stay for urinary tract infection. Examination revealed cognitive decline and depressive symptoms, with sodium at 123 mmol/L.

Background: Liver cirrhosis complicated by portal vein thrombosis (PVT) is a fatal complication with no specific manifestations but often misdiagnosed, it crucially increases the mortality worldwide. Aiming at the problem that it is difficult to realize low-cost, high-performance and large-scale utilization of cementitious materials prepared from bulk solid wastes, this paper constructs a set of composite cementitious system based on alkaline activation of slag and fly ash (FA) by calcium carbide slag (CCS) and synergistic activation of sodium sulfate (NaSO) as a chemical dopant. The influence of factors such as solid waste type, mixing ratio, and NaSO content on the mechanical properties of composite cementitious systems was investigated by assessing compressive strength and analyzing microstructure using XRD, SEM-EDS, and FTIR. The test results indicate that CCS and NaSO exert significant influences on the strength of the composite cementitious system.
