The increase of payload is one of the key tasks in creation of nanocontainers for the delivery of bioactive substances (BAS). In this work the adsorption of anionic carboxymethyl cyclodextrins (CMCDs) on the surface of cationic liposomes was studied as mechanism of formation of capacious nanocontainers for the encapsulation and delivery of hydrophobic BAS. The formation and physico-chemical characteristics of complexes were studied by means of laser microelectrophoresis, dynamic light-scattering, conductometry and atomic force microscopy (AFM).

In this study, curcumin, zein, epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) and carrageenan were used to fabricate curcumin-zein-EGCG-carrageenan (CZEC) layer-by-layer nanoparticles. These nanoparticles were embedded within carrageenan films to form composite films with enhanced antioxidant activity and smart responses. Light scattering, micro-electrophoresis, FTIR, and SEM were used to characterize the size, charge, interactions, and morphology of CZEC nanoparticles.

Vitamin D3 deficiency is a major public health problem worldwide, and standard cholecalciferol formulations provide poor absorbability of the vitamin. Several biphasic formulas have been proposed to overcome the disadvantages in which Pickering emulsions stand out in particular. This paper describes olive oil-in-water Pickering emulsions stabilized by pseudoboehmite (AlOOH), cellulose nanocrystals (CNC), and their heterocoagulates.

The use of synthetic nanomaterials as contrast agents, sensors, and drug delivery vehicles in biological research primarily requires effective approaches for intracellular delivery. Recently, the well-accepted microelectrophoresis technique has been reported to exhibit the ability to deliver nanomaterials, quantum dots (QDs) as an example, into live cells, but information about cell viability and intracellular fate of delivered nanomaterials is yet to be provided. Here we show that cell viability following microelectrophoresis of QDs is strongly correlated with the amount of delivered QDs, which can be finely controlled by tuning the ejection duration to maintain long-term cell survival.

Hypothesis: Fe(CO) was deposited on SBA-15 from gaseous phase and the adsorbed iron precursor was oxidized and hydrolyzed. We hypothesize that a novel method produces composites of unique and useful properties. The absence of sulfur and halides in the composites is of special importance with respect of their potential application as catalysts and catalyst supports.
