Fever of unknown origin (FUO) can be a common manifestation of multiple disease processes like infections, hematological & solid organ malignancies, autoimmune disorders, and autoinflammatory diseases. Endocrine causes of FUO are rare but should be considered in differential diagnosis. We present a case of a 35-year-old female with prolonged on-and-off fever and intermittent vomiting for nine months, where extensive workups for chronic infections, malignancy, and autoimmune conditions initially yielded no definitive diagnosis.

Background: The liver is the most common site of digestive system tumor metastasis, but not all liver metastases can be traced back to the primary lesions. Although it is unusual, syphilis can impact the liver, manifesting as syphilitic hepatitis with inflammatory nodules, which might be misdiagnosed as metastasis.
Case Summary: This case report involves a 46-year-old female who developed right upper abdominal pain and intermittent low fever that persisted for more than three months.

Despite the high burden of human and animal infectious diseases in Cameroon, implementing integrative approaches to managing and controlling arthropods and their pathogens remains challenging. Surveillance should be designed to detect diseases and provide relevant field-based data for developing and implementing effective control measures to prevent outbreaks before significant public and animal health consequences can occur. Nowadays, ticks are considered the primary vectors of animal diseases in the world, and the second vector of human diseases after mosquitoes.

The nucleotide-binding domain, leucine-rich repeat, and pyrin domain containing-protein 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome is a multiprotein complex that plays a critical role in the innate immune response to both infections and sterile stressors. Dysregulated NLRP3 activation has been implicated in a variety of autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, including cryopyrin-associated periodic fever syndromes, diabetes, atherosclerosis, Alzheimer's disease, inflammatory bowel disease, and cancer. Consequently, fine-tuning NLRP3 activity holds significant therapeutic potential.
