Pneumoconiosis is a widespread occupational pulmonary disease caused by inhalation and retention of dust particles in the lungs, is characterized by chronic pulmonary inflammation and progressive fibrosis, potentially leading to respiratory and/or heart failure. Workers exposed to dust, such as coal miners, foundry workers, and construction workers, are at risk of pneumoconiosis. This review synthesizes the international and national classifications, epidemiological characteristics, strategies for prevention, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, pathogenesis, and treatment of pneumoconiosis.

Introduction: To investigate the major existing occupational hazards and to assess the occupational health risks for ferrous metal foundries (FMFs) in Ningbo, China.
Methods: Unified questionnaires were formulated to investigate the information on the basic situations, occupational hazards, and occupational health management for 193 FMFs in Ningbo. Furthermore, we used the semi-quantitative risk assessment model, which was developed by the International Council on Mining and Metals (ICMM), to assess occupational health risks for 59 of 193 the FMFs.

In June 2021, the data of occupational pneumoconiosis cases in Tianjin from 2010 to 2019 were selected from Follow-up survey of occupational pneumoconiosis patients in Tianjin and occupational "Health Hazardous Surveillance Information System", the subsystem of China Disease Control and Prevention Information System. Disability-adjusted life year (DALY) , years of life lost (YLL) and years lost due to disability (YLD) were used to comprehensively measure the disease burden of occupational pneumoconiosis by region, year, disease type, industry, sex and age; Kruskal-wallis test was used for univariate analysis of DALY loss in pneumdo-niosis occupational.
