Cytomegalovirus (CMV) pneumonia is an uncommon presentation of CMV among patients with HIV/AIDS, particularly in co-infection with pneumonia (PCP). A case was reported with a literature review, and a comprehensive literature search was performed using the PubMed/MEDLINE and Scopus databases. We report a 52-year-old male with AIDS presenting with progressively worsening dyspnea over 1 week.

Background And Aim: Fowl adenovirus (FAdV) is the etiological agent of inclusion body hepatitis (IBH) and hepatitis-hydropericardium syndrome (HHS) in poultry. It is also detected in chickens with runting and stunting syndrome (RSS). FAdV has been detected worldwide, and genotypes 8a, 8b, and 11 have been identified in chickens with enteric problems in Brazil.

Background And Objective: Neuronal intranuclear inclusion disease (NIID) is a multifaceted disorder impacting both the central and peripheral nervous systems. This study aims to investigate the clinical and electrophysiological characteristics of peripheral neuropathy in patients with NIID.
Methods: In this cross-sectional study, patients diagnosed with NIID were prospectively recruited from multiple centers across China between October 2017 and May 2024.

Rationale: Neuronal intranuclear inclusion disease (NIID) is a slowly progressing neurodegenerative disease with various manifestations and high heterogeneity. Clinical characteristics, imaging, skin biopsy, and genetic testing are necessary for its diagnosis. Electromyography may also be a useful tool for diagnosing NIID.

Captive, pelagic red crabs (Pleuroncodes planipes) had shortened lifespans and cutaneous black spots. Histologically, epidermal and mesenchymal cells had 3-5 µm diameter intranuclear inclusions, necrosis, vacuolation, and/or hyperplasia. The remaining organs were histologically unremarkable.
