Department of Surgical Oncology and General Surgery Key Laboratory of Precision Diagnosis and Treatment of Gastrointestinal Tumors, Ministry of Education The First Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University, Shenyang, 110001, China.

Current in vitro models for gastric cancer research, such as 2D cell cultures and organoid systems, often fail to replicate the complex extracellular matrix (ECM) found in vivo. For the first time, this study utilizes a gelatin methacryloyl (GelMA) hydrogel, a biomimetic ECM-like material, in 3D bioprinting to construct a physiologically relevant gastric cancer model. GelMA's tunable mechanical properties allow for the precise manipulation of cellular behavior within physiological ranges.

Intrapancreatic fat deposition (IPFD) has garnered increasing attention in recent years. The prevalence of IPFD is relatively high and associated with factors such as obesity, age, and sex. However, the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying IPFD remain unclear, with several potential contributing factors, including oxidative stress, alterations in the gut microbiota, and hormonal imbalances.

Background: Rebleeding after recovery from esophagogastric variceal bleeding (EGVB) is a severe complication that is associated with high rates of both incidence and mortality. Despite its clinical importance, recognized prognostic models that can effectively predict esophagogastric variceal rebleeding in patients with liver cirrhosis are lacking.

Aim: To construct and externally validate a reliable prognostic model for predicting the occurrence of esophagogastric variceal rebleeding.

Shenlian (SL) decoction, a renowned traditional Chinese formula for diabetes mellitus, has also been employed to treat intestinal disorders. Previous studies have demonstrated the efficacy of SL decoction in regulating blood glucose and intestinal bacteria. Nevertheless, further analysis is required to elucidate the mechanistic link between SL decoction-mediated improvement of intestinal function and treatment of Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).

January 2025

State Key Laboratory of Holistic Integrative Management of Gastrointestinal Cancers, National Clinical Research Center for Digestive Diseases, Xijing Hospital, The Air Force Military Medical University, Xi'an, 710032, Shaanxi, China. Electronic address:

Background: Positivity for anti-gp210 and anti-centromeric antibodies (ACA) in patients with primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) have been associated with the progression of liver failure and portal hypertension (PH), respectively. The value of combining risk autoantibody assessments with prognostic scoring systems in improving risk assessment in patients with PBC remains unclear.

Aims: To investigate the prognostic significance of various combinations of anti-gp210 and ACA statuses and their enhancing the prognostic utility on the GLOBE scoring system.
