Arsenic trioxide (ATO) is a classic first-line treatment for acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL). An increasing number of studies regarding the use of ATO in tumor treatment have shown consistently remarkable results. In this study, subgroup J avian leukosis virus (ALV-J) was used as a model virus, and different doses of ATO were used to treat ALV-J-positive chickens.

Infectious bronchitis virus (IBV) causes infectious bronchitis in chicken, an acute, highly contagious respiratory infection. Because of genetic mutations and recombination, IBV forms many subtypes, which makes it difficult to treat the disease and apply commercial vaccines. Therefore, to detect IBV in time and stop the virus from spreading, a novel and convenient IBV detection technology based on reverse transcription recombinase-aided amplification (RT-RAA) was established in this study.

This study focuses on clarifying the regulation of chicken 14-3-3σ protein on the fibrous histiocyte proliferation caused by ALV-J-SD1005 strain infection. DF-1 cells were inoculated with 10 TCID of ALV-J-SD1005 strain; the cell proliferation viability was dramatically increased and 14-3-3σ expressions were dramatically decreased within 48 h after inoculation. Chicken over-expression could significantly decrease the cell proliferation and the ratio of S-phase cells, but increase the ratio of G2/M-phase cells in ALV-J-infected DF-1 cells; by contrast, chicken knockdown expression could cause the opposite effects.

Avian leucosis (AL) is a disease characterized by tumors and is caused by the avian leukosis virus (ALV). Because of the high variability of viruses and complex pathogenic mechanisms, screening and breeding J subgroup of ALV (ALV-J) resistant avian breeds is one of the strategies for prevention and treatment of AL, thus screening of significant immune markers is needed to promote the development of disease-resistant breeds. In this study, data-independent acquisition (DIA) technology was used to detect the DEPs of three breeds of chicken according to different comparison to investigate the potential markers.

Avian leukosis virus subgroup J (ALV-J) has resulted in considerable economic losses in the poultry industry. In recent years, fibrosarcoma induced by ALV-J, which contains the v-fps oncogene, has gained momentum, and this has brought about new challenges to the poultry industry. To study the inhibitory effects of Taishan Pinus Massoniana pollen polysaccharide (TPPPS) on acute ALV-J infection and tumor development, antiviral and antitumor models of the Fu-J (SDAU1005) strain of ALV-J were established in vitro and in vivo.
